Welcome to Grassroots Cash at grassrootslending.ca (the “Site”). By accessing or using our Site and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our Site or services.

1. Eligibility

To use Grassroots Cash services, you must:

  • Be at least 19 years of age (or the age of majority in your province or territory).

  • Be a resident of Canada.

  • Have a valid Canadian bank account.

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration.

  • Not be prohibited from entering into loan agreements under applicable laws.

2. Services

Grassroots Cash provides an online platform for personal lending, connecting borrowers with loan opportunities. We are not a lender but facilitate loan agreements between borrowers and lenders. Specific terms of any loan (e.g., interest rates, repayment schedules) will be outlined in a separate loan agreement provided at the time of application.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Borrower Responsibilities

  • Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information when applying for a loan.

  • Repay any loan, including principal, interest, and applicable fees, as outlined in your loan agreement.

  • Notify us immediately of any changes to your contact or financial information.

3.2 Lender Responsibilities (if applicable)

  • Ensure funds are available for lending as agreed.

  • Comply with all applicable lending laws and regulations.

  • Review and understand the risks associated with lending through our platform.

3.3 General User Responsibilities

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials.

  • Use the Site for lawful purposes only.

  • Not engage in fraudulent, misleading, or illegal activities.

4. Loan Agreements

  • Loans facilitated through Grassroots Cash are subject to separate loan agreements between borrowers and lenders.

  • We are not a party to these agreements but act as an intermediary.

  • You are responsible for reviewing and understanding the terms of any loan agreement before accepting it.

  • Interest rates, fees, and repayment terms vary and will be disclosed in the loan agreement.

5. Fees

  • Grassroots Cash may charge fees for facilitating loans, such as application fees, service fees, or late payment fees. These will be clearly disclosed before you enter a loan agreement.

  • Borrowers are responsible for any fees outlined in their loan agreement.

  • All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at grassrootslending.ca/privacy. By using our Site, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy, in compliance with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws.

7. Account Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.

  • Notify us immediately at support@grassrootslending.ca if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

8. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site to engage in illegal activities, including money laundering or fraud.

  • Misrepresent your identity or financial situation.

  • Interfere with the Site’s functionality, including introducing viruses or malicious code.

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site at our discretion, including for:

  • Violation of these Terms.

  • Suspected fraudulent or illegal activity.

  • Failure to repay a loan as agreed. Upon termination, any outstanding loan obligations remain in effect.

  • Grassroots Cash is not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of the Site or services, including but not limited to financial losses from loans or data breaches, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

  • We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the Site or services.

  • You acknowledge that lending and borrowing involve financial risks, and you assume full responsibility for such risks.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grassroots Cash, its affiliates, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Site, violation of these Terms, or breach of any loan agreement.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [Your Province, e.g., Ontario] and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

13. Changes to Terms
